Tell Them

Who do you love? Who adds value to your life and you are thankful you get to share your journey with them. TELL THEM. Why is it that we often do not say the things we need to say until it is too late. You hear good things at people's funeral but why not tell them before it is too late.

Who challenges you to get closer and go further with God? TELL THEM. Tell these people how God uses them in your life. Tell them how deeply they have impacted you and fuel you to draw nearer to God.

Who inspires you? Who has overcome so much adversity or thrown caution to the wind to follow Jesus and their example stirs you. I immediately think of the Morrow family who used to attend our church. She taught before choosing to stay home to raise her children. He is a barber. After months of the activity of God in their lives they responded to God's call to sell their home, shut down a thriving barber business, and uproot their family to go to Galveston to start a church. Their faith steps inspire me. I'm challenged to follow Jesus more wholeheartedly in my personal journey because of their example.

What person do you see selflessly serving others and they challenge you? I saw a man clean out a freezer of rotten catfish this past Sunday. The pungent odor permeated every part of our facilities this past Sunday. The electricity went off during the week of Thanksgiving leaving a foul smell all over the building. This man did not seek recognition. The job needed to be done and he did so with no fanfare. He did not get glory and the task was not pleasant. He did it without complaining. His example is a challenge for me to be a better servant. We need to tell the servants around us how much we appreciate their service and do not take them for granted.

Who encourages you? TELL THEM. Tell them how their timely words of encouragement have helped you through some dark seasons. Tell them how God has used them to help you keep enduring.

Who prays for you? Who lifts you before the Father? Who stands in the gap for you? Tell them how grateful you are for their devotion to intercede on your behalf. Many times I have been awakened in wee hours of the night with Brenda's hand on me praying for God to speak to me, give me peace, or give me a message. TELL THEM of your gratitude for their prayers.

Tell people how much you love and appreciate them before it is too late.
