John Bunyan once wrote, "Hope has thick skin and can suffer many a blow." Have you found that to be true in your case? Against the midnight of your circumstances have you found hope from God to be tough enough to suffer all the blows of hardships and sorrows?
Bunyan spent many years in prison because he would not agree to quit preaching the Bible. If he had he could have been released. He suffered. His wife suffered. His kids suffered. All voluntarily suffered. And yet in the middle of all their sufferings hope soared. So much so that Bunyan wrote the widely acclaimed Pilgrim's Progress from prison. This book has impacted millions.
Hope does have thick skin. As long as the child of God has the promises of God there will always be hope. Even if that hop is not fully realized until eternity. Heaven is the hope for suffering people. It has bene the hope for the persecuted, for the slaves in the cotton fields, for the sick and diseased, for the paralyzed, divorced, abused, and even for the sinner.
I don't know where you are or what you are facing. I just know if you cling to God and His promises you will also find hope has thick skin. Hope does not go down easily. Because our God reigns there is hope even for you and even for today.
