Why is it so many who claim to be in Christ are dead in their souls. They are apathetic, still enslaved to sin, and dead to the things of Christ. Why is that these same people are still alive to their flesh along with unholy passions and desires. The flesh often rules more than the supremacy of Christ.
These things should not be. We are to be dead to our flesh. [Gal 2:20] [Gal 6:14] We are supposed to be dead to things like anger, immorality and greed. [Col 1:1-8] At the same time we are supposed to be alive in Christ.
There needs to be some funerals. Death to our flesh. Death to sin. Death to setting our mind on the things of this earth. Death to wrong priorities and passions. We need Jesus to hammer the nails into our flesh to the hardwood of the cross until we are dead to ourselves and sinful passions.
At the same time we need to celebrate the rebirth of Christ in our souls, the holy life, and desiring things of eternity more than the temporary.
Are you dead to the things you should be dead to and alive to the things you should be alive to. Like so many others do you have it flipped. Are you dead to the things of Christ while alive to the flesh? It is time to get things right with the Lord.
