Blood Work

I had to go get some blood work done this week. I do not have a phobia of needles as long as I can see it coming. That rear entry needle is another story.

I watched as the technician drew one vile of blood after another. The crimson flow filled three tubes. It dawned on me as I looked at that blood what Jesus did for me with the shedding of His blood.

Isaiah 1:18 (NASB)
18  "Come now, and let us reason together," Says the LORD, "Though your sins are as scarlet, They will be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They will be like wool.

Only with Jesus can you take the filthy stain of sin, cover it with the crimson blood of Jesus and you get white like snow. Usually black and red would make purple. God uses those colors to make white. It is a miracle.

Ephesians 1:7 (NASB)
7  In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace

That is what the blood work of Jesus will do for sinners. Because of His blood work we have redemption. That means we have a release effected by payment of ransom. Jesus paid my ransom and yours and all who repent of and believes.

Forgiveness means having our sins dismissed and released. We are pardoned of all wrongs committed. Why? Why would God sacrifice the blood of His Son? O the riches of His grace. Riches means the wealth and the word grace means the kindness, favor and blessing of God. Totally undeserved. Not able to be earned. Blood work declares us not guilty, redeemed and forgiven. It is a a true blessing. Praise God for His blood work.
