“I searched for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap before Me for the land, So that I would not destroy it; but I found no one.”
[Ez. 22:30]
Many years ago I read this scripture and began to weep. I pleaded with God to never be able to say anywhere I lived that he could find no one to stand in the gap. Many years have passed by since that afternoon and still my heart cries out to God to see I want to be one who will stand in the gap.
We are blessed in Seminole. Through the ministry of Joyce Dow we have a sister who stands in the gap for the city and the county. There are a handful of people who join her, but why are the community prayer room meetings not filled to overflowing in attendance? What is going on in our lives that is so important we cannot spare time to stand in the gap for city?
It is past time to talk about praying. It is time to stand up and take our rightful places in the gap and pray for God’s intervention and protection. America is not beyond God’s judgments. He judged other nations in the past that forsook Him. This nation has rejected God and His word by and large. We are governed by crooks who do not always have the best interest of the nation at heart. We mock the laws of God thinking they are antiquated when torrential floodwaters of God’s judgment on this nation are only held back by God’s mercy and patience. One day they will be released unless we turn back to Him in repentance.
Do we not understand what is at stake? Intercessors it is time to awake! We must stand in the gap pleading for God’s protection. Now is not the time to push the snooze button and slumber longer. I beg of you to start standing in the gap. Please make coming to Community Prayer Room a high priority. I plead with you commit that time to the Lord every Thursday in Seminole from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at one of the area churches.
We are past time for excuses. Either stand in the gap or eventually watch our society crumble. It is that simple and things are getting that drastic.
Steps to Revival
1. Will you commit to giving time to the Community Prayer Room on Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.? If your community does not have CPR will you take the initiative to start one?
2. Spend some time asking God to raise up other intercessors to stand in the gap.
3. Find some time to encourage those prayer warriors who have stood in the gap for your community over the years. Commit to join them.
