It was ten years ago the planes crashed and the twin towers fell
Plunging thousands into eternity – some Heaven and some Hell
A decade later tears still fall and loved ones continue to grieve
Countless prayers have been offered to cope and find relief
God the question has been asked where were you on that day
The message of redemption in the steel cross you had to say
You drew your children into life everlasting when tragedy hit
You gave the grieving the grit to finish though easier to quit
You gave courage to the fire fighters to rescue those in need
You gave compassion to those treating wounds stopping the bleed
You were wisdom to our leaders valiantly leading the cause
You rallied a nation with the “We will never forget” clause
You comforted the dazed, wounded, broken, and confused,
You remained steadfast by the dying offering your refuge
You displayed mercy and offered your salvation through grace
To all who trusted you to forgive making righteous through faith
You strengthened warriors to stand against the evil of our age
You brought peace to those consumed and overcome with rage
In countless ways you worked that day none us will ever forget
Loving, strengthening, consoling those who live with regrets
You drew the souls into eternity that fateful September morn
You embraced those who trusted you and had been twice born
A decade has come and gone since that tragic horrific day
In the aftermath you are still rule and have the last say
